Finally I have some time to blog a little more!
First I was thinking to translate the note I've posted in my blog in VK. Now am thinking of writing another one. A new one!
So I've been in Washington D.C. for 5 days through Monday to Saturday. And that was incredible over there. First of all 'cause I was in the USA (my dream that I had for a long time). Secondly I was in Washington D.C. - capital city! Impressive, don't you think? Third of all I've came there to meet great people (including our YEAR Program team - all our coordinators (especially me coordinator Cayla!), heads of the program etc.). Was I excited? Oh yes, I was. I still am. Although it's almost a month I am in the US.
Here I am Washington D.C. Yes, I didn't have much time to walk around sightseeing and exploring museums, monuments, places but still I had a chance to see many things. I was lucky enough to see all the main buildings of the capital. There are included Capitol, Obelisk, White House, National Mall, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial. Not so bad for a person who spent more than half of the time in the hotel's room on the orientation course. First of all I've visited (there's no doubt in that) White House. Well, I haven't technically visited it, I've walked nearby. Twice. Whatever. I took some pictured, had a walk nearby and now after some time I understand that it wasn't so impressive. I mean it was just a building, a simple building where the president of the US lives. Kidding. It isn't just a simple one. It's a good protected one. Then I had a chance to visit Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials. Those impressed me! My favorite antique architecture (okay it was simply antique style but who cares, it doesn't lose it's beauty though. And there I took some great pics! Moonlight, night time and perfect lightened sculptures! That is impressive. You should visit worlds' famous places during sunset, sunrise or during the night! It's magical, it's incredible, that's wonderful! Also I've been to the Martin Luther King Memorial which inspired me a lot. Fourteen quotes from King's speeches and writings are inscribed on the Inscription Wall that surrounds the monument on which you can find the words of his speech "I have a dream". And one more time I've visited that place in the evening when it has been dark. That was kind of an atmosphere that inspires and impresses. That's pretty much it for the first evening out.
But then we had the whole day outside in National Mall. Yes, this place is worth of seeing. You can find a lot of museums over there. You can choose whatever you want. History museum, Natural History, Airspace museum, Art Museum (Asian, African, European arts). There is a whole National Mall in front of you. And for your information almost all of these museums are free (I know for sure that Spy Museum isn't but all those I mentioned above are!). As for me I've chosen History, Natural History and Art Museums. I covered the first one for 2 hours or something like that. There are a lot of things to see there but I am not a big fan of military history. Still I spent some time in the Second World War section. It was interesting to see this page of the history in American way. Then goes Arts Museum. I've chosen European Art mostly I've been looking for Claude Monet. And I found some of his works! Lucky me! Also there were some Van Gog works but that one I've seen only to take some pictures and send them to my friend. She loves Van Gog. And the last one that impressed me a lot is Natural History Museum. No I am not a big fan of this type of history but there they have Hope Diamond (I wasn't impressed to tell the truth, so there is a diamond over there, that's not a big deal). The section that has impressed me a lot wasn't the biggest one. You can cover it for 15 minutes or even less (10 would be enough). As for me I spent there 2 hours!
The same time I've spent to cover the History Museum which has 3 floors! You're probably wondering what was over there. That was an exhibition of the first placed, second placed or highly honored photos of the National Geographic Competitions in different categories. Oh, you can imagine how much time I've spent in front of each photo, how happy I was just looking at those pictures. After seeing each of them, after each one I realized more and more that I really want to see all those places, I want to feel myself the atmosphere there. And even now weeks ago I still remember all those feelings. I don't know why but I could just stay there looking at those pictures, trying to see close every detail, every spot, every drop of the water. That's just incredible. That moment I had only one wish - to have enough time in my entire life to visit all those places, to see them myself with my own eyes. Looking at those photos I've realized what a miracle, what an incredible chance we have simply living on this planet. We have so much BREATHTAKING places to visit. We have so many treasures we have to keep. We are lucky to be here. We are lucky to see all these things. And you know what it is not only about some extraordinary places it's about the whole planet, the whole earth, the whole life.l Life is amazing. Life is breathtaking. Life is a gift!
Here I am in Wisconsin already. I've been here for 2 weeks and I am amazed! But first things go first. I like to have everything in order especially in my own blog. So today I am going to summarize my 5 day stay in Washington D.C.

I don't think that reading this travel blog you're gonna be interested in reading about my orientation that I had in Washington D.C. but still it was the part of the cultural experience so just a few words about that. That was incredibly helpful to listen to all of those explanations. Now, living already by myself (without any coordinator nearby) I can say that there were helpful lessons. Moreover all that orientation course helped me a lot to plunge into the language. I needed to switch between two languages so that later I could leave one of them behind (yes, I still use it to communicate with my family, my friends but I use it less, I even forbid my self to think in Russian.). So thank you a lot YEAR Program team for ALL your help and support! You are INCREDIBLE!

Yes, you see I was pretty excited. But now Washington D.C. is behind. After a long and a little bit troubled process of coming to Wisconsin I am finally here and soon (I hope I'll manage to post some new notes soon) you're going to have a chance to find out what my life looks like now!
P.S. Those are not my photos. i'm gonna replace them as soon as I can!
