I have time to post. I have time to do. Bla bla bla. That’s
funny but with all these assignments, school activities, self-development etc.
I totally forgot about blogging and posting.
First things first. It’s the middle of September in here (as
it is in the whole world I suppose) but there is still no sign of the fall
season. Nevertheless, I can be passionate and wait. I am so excited about this
fall season. Beauty, colors, perfect fall weather and HOLIDAYS. Yes, I am crazy
about that. So what? I can’t wait Halloween comes! Believe me or not but I tried
to celebrate this particular holiday for three years in Russia. Nothing.
Really. That wasn’t it. Every time after the celebration I was thinking what
would it be like to have a REAL Halloween. Trick or treating. Parties. COSTUMES.
CANDIES. HORRORS. WOW! Finally, I have a chance to have this real Halloween.
PERFECT! However, I still have month and a half before and a lot of things to
do.
First, studying. It’s an important part of my life now.
STUDYING. I left Russia to have a gap year, to decide, to relax. Nothing
changed. I am studying here. And it is really interesting. Finally, we can make
real discussions during the classes. Finally, I can say what I want not they
are waiting to hear. Finally, I can give freedom for my imagination and simply
have FUN! For the first time I have written an essay based on my thoughts,
opinion. Yes, I have done that earlier but all my previous assignments were
based on something that my teachers wanted to get. Here they gave us a topic
and you can write whatever you want about it. Analyze, think, show different points
of view etc. That’s exciting. This is an example of your freedom. Don’t put
yourself in those frames! Be free!!!

But it shouldn’t be always about studying, should it? So now
be ready to read about my little adventures. Water park and amusement park
simply opened this year in US (at least I’ll do my best to visit different
places. First things first. It was in the begging of the September. My host
family told me they would take me to do some hiking. I was excited to see some
natural reserves, lakes etc. They decided to take me to Wisconsin Dells. I had
absolutely NO idea what it would be like. We left early in the morning and
spend around 2 hours in a car driving to dells. The weather was beautiful so
were the landscapes that we passed. Real nature, real life. Sometimes I wish I
could fly. I wish I could be an eagle so that I will cross all these big
distances and see all that beauty that is on the Earth. Dreams… We came to the
Wisconsin Dells. Hmm… Lake, hills, woods. Nice. Pretty. Oh, my mind changed a
lot after we reached the top. It was so BEAUTIFUL! EXHILARATING! BREATHTAKING!
It was amazing! Sparkling water, green hills, grey rocks, bright sunlight and
blue sky with incredible clouds above. I wish I could take the part of that
landscape with me. Such an incredible view, fantastic feelings, amazing
emotions, good memories. I liked it in there. More and more I understand
something but later about that.

Next one was my last weekend trip. Rosholt. Camp in the
middle of the woods near the lake. When I heard about that one I was really
excited (though I am kind of a person who likes comfort). I am literately
excited about every opportunity to go somewhere else. Camping for two days.
WOW! What a chance! I am in. That was really cool! Some people complained “Oh,
that’s boring, all these games, who cares. Bla. Bla. Bla”. Guys, come on! You
ruined your atmosphere! Be positive! Think positively! I was really happy to
try everything. Team building activities? Good! Wild Nature Photos? Okay! Fire
building? Cool! Games to improve yourself and teamwork? Great! Canoeing and kayaking?
Perfect! Tree climbing? I am already there! Archery? Sure! That was great time.
Sure there were some “accidents”. During our canoeing practice my canoe partner
wanted to swim, decided to make me to do the same thing. After I refused he
turned our canoe over. Papapapam! I was all wet, had NO extra clothes to
change, wore my new boots, wanted to kill him right there but then realized
that it’s nothing. It was so fun! We swam, then dived a little. Yes, I was all
wet, I had nothing to change, my makeup was ruined, my boots were wet (I hate
wet shoes) but we laughed and had so much fun! Thank you Ash for turning our
canoe over. That was really great! I liked it in there. Especially I liked kayaking,
canoeing (you know the reason why), tree climbing and archery. You have an aim;
you should reach it. It was so funny to climb up the tree. I reached the top! I
did it! It’s all about your desire, your wish. You can if you truly want to!
Archery was really cool as well. I am kind of a dreamy person. I like to
imagine different stories etc. And practice some archery was one of my dreams
for a long time. I finally realized it. It was great! Truly! You should find
your balance. You should concentrate and you shoot! I liked that one. To tell
the truth I was going to this camp knowing that I would have a chance to practice
some archery. Here we go! I did it! Amazing experience!
School, trips, expectations, holidays but I have some
volunteering to do as well. I have tried different kinds already. Serving,
selling and parking! The last one is my favorite! It was a drive-in movie in
our college and we helped cars to park. Oh boy, that was SO COOL. You’re the
boss, you know where everyone should park. You show them. You are in charge. We
rule this parking lot! Yes, I had a lot of fun. I have a lot of emotions, some
cool memories and great experience as well. That is the beginning. I have 8
months ahead. It’s going to be my trip to Chicago soon, some local trips with
college as well. I am excited, I am happy and I not homesick at all. I explore
this new world, new culture and I am really happy that last year my mom told me
“Are you crazy? Apply! Don’t even hesitate!”
That’s how my life is going, that’s what I am doing, that’s
what I like!
